On August 3, an open lesson for entrepreneurs on the features of foreign trade marketing was held in the Volgograd branch of the Russian Export Center (REC). On the territory of Volgograd, 280 businessmen sell their products abroad, the educational project of the REC is aimed at improving the skills of entrepreneurs.
In the first lesson, entrepreneurs learn basic information about the export market. At subsequent stages, trainers introduce them to export markets, suggest how to improve the competitiveness of goods, and guide them in pricing issues.
According to REC teachers, entrepreneurs often underestimate the importance of the cultural characteristics of countries when goods are brought to the international market.
- In different countries the same product, even its packaging, color can be perceived differently. Sometimes the name also influences the promotion: what is familiar to some may cause negative emotions in others, ”says Anna Nesterova, trainer at the educational project of the Russian Export Center .

Entrepreneurs themselves note that studying at school provides an understanding of how to run a business. For example, Dmitry Krasnoperov has long wanted to do business with the countries of the Eurasian Union, but due to ignorance of the laws governing trading activities, he cannot figure out how to enter the market.

- If you miss something, unpleasant consequences can occur, so the seminar is very useful, they’re all sorted out here, ”the businessman adds.
Note that classes at the Export School are free. In just two years, 300 entrepreneurs have become graduates of the institution. The courses were developed with the participation of specialists from the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, the Higher School of Economics, the Skolkovo Innovation Center.
